In accordance with the Belfast Agenda and as partners with Great Place North Belfast the Hall presents a unique social history of this quarter of Belfast from 1850 up to and including the present day. The museum and library space as well as the detailed visitor narrative relay the story of Belfast over the past 175 years.
Covering periods of history such as the famine, the industrial revolution, the end of the Victorian era, the covenant, WW1, WW2 right up to and including the most recent troubles. A Grade II listed building the hall is unequalled for interest in the city. The Statue on top of the hall seen from the West link as a major landmark is the only equestrian statue in Northern Ireland.
As a 150-year-old visitor attraction we are committed to the preservation of the character of the building both by law and by desire.
There are between 4,000 to 5,000 physical archives, artifacts, displays and memorabilia on display in the hall and the Victorian building itself is the best of all.
