Frederick Street Quaker Meeting House EHOD 2026

The Meeting House was established in 1830 but was replaced in 1975. The original entrance to the Meeting House and the Institute Building dating from 1869 remain. They were designed and built by the architect Thomas Jackson. The Institute Building is used by the charity Concern and the recently refurbished Meeting House continues to be used for weekly Meetings for Worship and as a hub for Quaker Service.

On the Open Day hosts will meet and greet visitors, provide information and leaflets.  Reflecting this year’s theme, Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine, the historic fabric of the Institute Building and Meeting House entrance is currently being carefully assessed to ensure repairs can be carried out in a way that protects the character and integrity of the buildings for the future.
