This beautiful church is one of the oldest in Belfast. Known as the Church on the Hill, it is surrounded by an ancient churchyard in peaceful surroundings bounded by the busy Saintfield Road.
Knockbreda Parish Church was consecrated in 1737, having been built to unite the ancient parishes of Knock and Breda. It was built by Lady Middleton, grandmother of the Duke of Wellington. The building was designed by Richard Cassels, the leading Palladian architect of the day. The main nave has two side bays and there are 6 stained glass windows in the body of the church. The three memorial windows at the east end of the church depict twelve saints of the early church.
Visitors will be able to take a self-guided video tour of the church, accessed by using a QR code.
