Barney Cashman is a middle‑aged, mild‑mannered seafood restaurateur feeling the heat of a midlife crisis. With his mother’s apartment as his unlikely hideaway, he decides it’s finally time to add a little adventure to his life.
Premiering on Broadway in 1969, Last of the Red Hot Lovers was celebrated for its wit, warmth, and Simon’s uncanny ability to find truth in the most awkward of moments. As this play was written in 1969 it reflects the attitudes and language of that period.
Suitable for ages 12 plus
