Life at Versailles isn't all royal luxury and cake. For Violet, home is a tiny workman’s cottage shared with her uncle Régis, the estate's hardworking caretaker.
It’s a world away from the Paris apartment she knew before losing her parents. Despite a rocky start, Violet and Regis learn to live and face life’s challenges together. Through complex friendships, first loves and a Christmas trip to Violet’s grandparents, they slowly create a new life rich in discoveries and tender moments in the heart of Versailles.
Adapted from the award-winning graphic novel, this vibrant story blends classic French comic style with cinematic charm. It’s a beautifully crafted masterpiece!
This screening marks the start of several launch activities for the 37th Cinemagic Film Festival which runs throughout October in venues across Belfast, packed with new international films, workshops, education programmes, special events and Q&As to inspire young audiences.
