The Old Museum Building EHOD 2026

Visit Belfast's Oldest Museum, built by voluntary public subscription in 1831. This Grade A listed Building rejoices in very high ceilings and the flights in the staircase are unusually long.

It is the home of the Belfast Natural History and Philosophical Society which began life in 1821 and quickly developed into Belfast's  '  Home of Science, Literature and Art'.

Here too resides Ulster Architectural Heritage, the lead independent voice for built heritage in  Ulster, promoting the value of built heritage, its protection, conservation and regeneration for people and communities.

Tours available. The event will be family friendly with trails and activities designed for kids.

The UHA bookshop will be open and refreshments will be available.

Accessibility - As this is a historic building, entry is via a flight of stone steps. We regret that step-free access is not currently available, and the building is therefore unsuitable for wheelchair users.
