Strand Hard Hat Tour EHOD 2026

‘Hard Hat’ tours of the Strand Opening in 1935 as a 'picture house', the Strand has evolved over 90 years, becoming a variety theatre, a multiplex and, finally, an arts centre. It is currently undergoing a £7 million renovation and will reopen later in the year.  The Strand dates back to 1935 and, by the 2000s, was a physically deteriorating 'at risk' building, with poor disabled access and facilities. But, after years of fundraising, the Strand is undergoing an extensive  renovation, and is due to reopen later in the year. Before the reopening, get a chance to have a first look round the Strand and see some of the exciting changes in the venue. Three tours are available on Saturday 12 September, at 10am, 11am and 12pm. Places are limited and must be booked in advance by emailing: rosie@strandartscentre.com As it is still an active building site, hard hats and hi-vis vests will need to worn by attendees, and the tour is suitable for 16+ only
