If you grew up on this island and loved music, it was hard not to feel the loss when the news broke over the last couple of days.
Whether you first found him through The Frames, discovered him in Once, watched him on Other Voices, or simply came across him somewhere along the way, Glen Hansard’s music had a way of finding people. Just as importantly, he showed how music could bring people together and make a difference, most famously through the annual Big Busk in support of people experiencing homelessness.
This Saturday, we’d like to celebrate that legacy in the simplest way we know how.
Electric Light Station will open its doors for an acoustic community busk in memory of Glen Hansard.
Just songs, sessions and a collection bucket.
Every donation will go directly to Simon Community NI to support people experiencing homelessness.
Bring an instrument and join in, or simply come along, listen and support the cause.
