Across the island and throughout the diaspora, women have always been engaged in making and remaking Ireland’s constitutional story. From Párliment na mBan in 1670 to feminist organising in every century, Ireland has repeatedly generated fresh ways of thinking about law and authority. Aoife O Donohue’s talk explores the legacy of trail blazing women like Constance Markievicz, Mary Robinson and many others.
Free event. No booking required.

MNÁ AGUS SCÉAL BUNREACHTÚIL NA HÉIREANN HALLA AN LÍNÉADAIGH, BÉAL FEIRSTE
Bhí mná páirteach i scéal bunreachtúil na hÉireann agus páirteach arís eile i gcónaí ar fud an oileáin agus sa diaspora. Ó Pharlaimint na mBan in 1670 go feiminigh ag eagrú i gach céad, bhí mná na hÉireann i mbun smaointeoreachta úrnua faoi dhlí agus faoi údarás arís agus arís eile. Pléifidh caint Aoife O Donohue stair agus oidhreacht na mban ceannródaíoch amhail Constance Markievicz, Máire Mhic Róibín agus cuid mhór daoine eile nach iad.
Imeacht saor in aisce. Ní bheidh áirithint ar bith de dhíth.
