With the North being one of the most dangerous places in Europe to be a woman, crime correspondent Allison Morris looks at the hidden cost of femicide and what more can be done to protect women and girls.
Followed by panel talk with Declan McNally, who lost his sister Natalie in a brutal murder carried out while she was 15 weeks pregnant. He is joined by Joanne Dorrian who has campaigned tirelessly for justice for her sister Lisa, murdered and buried, her remains have never been found, she also campaigns for other missing women, including west Belfast woman Saoirse Smyth missing since April 2017. Sonya McMullan of Women’s Aid looks at the shocking statistics and asks what can policing, justice and society do collectively to end Violence Against Women and Girls.

FEIMEAMHARÚ LIGTHE I NDEARMAD: LÉACHT BHLIANTÚIL PJ MCGRORY COLÁISTE OLLSCOILE NAOMH MUIRE, BÓTHAR NA BHFÁL
Mar go bhfuil an Tuaisceart ar cheann de na háiteanna is contúirtí do mhná san Eoraip le bheith i do bhean, scrúdóidh an comhfhreagraí coiriúlachta, Allison Morris, costais cheilte an fheimeamharaithe agus níos mó rudaí is féidir a dhéanamh le mná agus cailíní a chosaint.
Beidh caint phainéil ina dhiaidh le Declan McNally, ar maraíodh a deirfiúr Natalie go brúidiúil, agus í ag iompar clainne le 15 seachtaine. Beidh Joanne Dorrian, a bhí i mbun feachtais gan stad gan staonadh ag iarraidh ceart dá deirfiúr Lisa, a maraíodh agus a cuireadh, ann leis. Ní bhfuarthas ar a corp go fóill. Tá sí i mbun feachtais ar son ban eile atá ar iarraidh, an bhean Fheirsteach Iartharach, Saoirse Smyth, bhí ar iarraidh ó Aibreán 2017 san áireamh. Déanfaidh Sonya McMullan ó Women’s Aid iniúchadh ar na staitisticí uafásacha agus pléifidh sí na rudaí is féidir le póilíneacht, leis an chóras dlí agus leis an tsochaí déanamh le chéile chun deireadh a chur le foréigean in aghaidh na mban agus na gcailíní.
Imeacht saor in aisce. Ní bheidh áirithint ar bith de dhíth.
