From humble beginnings nearly 15 years ago, The Rapparees struck gold when they were invited to support their heroes, The Pogues, on tour.
Inspired by that experience and driven by a shared love of Irish folk, punk and storytelling, the band have spent over a decade building a reputation as one of Ireland's most electrifying live acts. Since 2014, their acclaimed tribute to Shane MacGowan & The Pogues has packed venues across Belfast, Dublin and the UK, with more than 30 sold-out shows and a loyal following that continues to grow year after year.
This August, we're delighted to welcome The Rapparees to Belfast as part of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026.
Renowned for their trademark rough-and-ready energy, powerful musicianship and deep connection to the music they celebrate, The Rapparees bring all the passion, swagger and spirit of The Pogues to the stage. Expect timeless songs, raised glasses, roaring choruses and the kind of atmosphere that only Irish folk-punk can create.
"The closest thing you'll get to seeing The Pogues in full flight."
Whether you're a lifelong Pogues devotee or simply looking for one last great night of music during Fleadh week, this is a show that demands to be experienced live.
As the final night of our Fleadh programme, this promises to be a fitting send-off to an unforgettable week of music, culture and celebration.
One massive sing-along.
One final celebration.
One hell of a way to close out the Fleadh.
